A 360° process provides
a unique reality check on how an individual is perceived by the people
around him in the organization.
People involved
in the process often report that for the first time, they have a clear
view of how they are viewed by peers, superiors and subordinates. The
360° Review provides an important foundation for executive development
initiatives that are specifically tailored to the individual.
For senior executives,
the 360° Review process can be a critically important tool for establishing
clear learning and development agendas that help them become more effective
leaders.
The
360° Review - How It Works
At the outset,
the 360° Review process involves a personal interview with the participant.
In addition to a structured interview, the person is asked to complete
a behavioural style survey.
Subsequently, we
interview between 9 and 12 superiors, peers and subordinates who are
in positions of contact with the individual. Typically, these interviews
last about 1/2 hour and include a behavioural style survey.
Once the data is
gathered and analyzed, we prepare a report of the findings and have
a final meeting with the participant. At that time, we share and interpret
the results of the 360° process and provide a developmental agenda.
Once the 360° Review
process is complete and a developmental agenda is established for the
individual, we are available to provide on-going coaching to assist
the individual in reaching their developmental objectives.

Reviews and Team Development
In addition, sharing
the results of the 360° Review with other executives in a group forum
can facilitate the development of the team. The 360° Review process begins
to cut through the facades and imaginings that people carry around about
other people. Typically new levels of trust open up as the findings
are shared with each other.
